THE BLACK ON BLACK GENDER WARFARE

How the Gender War Was Designed and How We End It.

PART I — A FICTIONAL NARRATIVE.
The Secret Boardroom.
The air inside the oak-panelled Stellenbosch boardroom was thick with cigar smoke and malice. Hendrik Verwoerd leaned over a sprawling map of South Africa, his eyes cold and calculating. Around the table, the elite inner circle of the Afrikaner Broederbond listened in rapt silence.
Physical walls are not enough,” Verwoerd whispered, tapping his finger on the map. “Pass laws and group areas will separate them geographically. But to ensure absolute control, we must construct invisible walls inside their very minds. We must conquer them in phases.
He raised three fingers.
First, we divide them by race. We convince them that skin colour dictates destiny. Race is the cake and we sprinkle self hate – round nose is ugly, full lips is whoredom, and  lighter equals beautiful. Second, we divide them by tribe. We pit the Zulu against the Xhosa, the Sotho against the Tswana. Let them squabble over local and tribal fiefdoms while we hold the treasury.
He paused, lowering his hand except for his thumb, pointing it directly at the men around him.
The ultimate weapon is to turn Black men and Black women against each other.”
But the final frontier, gentlemen, is gender. The ultimate weapon is to turn Black men and Black women against each other. The more they are divided, the more they will conflict and compete. The more they compete, the less they will trust and respect each other. When trust and respect reach zero, they will ‘Other’ each other. They will stop seeing each other as partners and start seeing each other as obstacles. They will transform from subjects of solidarity into objects of scorn.”

A senior Broederbond member nodded, pouring a glass of brandy. “And the long-term impact on their resistance?”

Verwoerd smiled thinly. “The apartheid project will remain alive and kicking long after we are gone if we seed this war correctly. Do not let them remember the old truth: united we stand, divided we fall. Let them continue to throw shade and stones at each other on public platforms. Preferably, let them hate each other.

He stood up, pacing the length of the room. “The gender wars must move from small fires to bonfires, and eventually to raging wildfires. If they are constantly at war, they will have no time for intimacy. They will have no capacity for staying married. We will trigger an epidemic of divorce. They will lose the ability to raise children together. Gender segregation and disunity will destroy the family and the home. And gentlemen, remember this rule of empire: you destroy the home and the family, you slowly kill a people from the inside out. They will build their own prison, and they will guard it themselves.

PART II — THE MODERN REALITY
The Anatomy of the Problem
The fictional boardroom of Stellenbosch mirrors a devastating sociological truth: the fragmentation of the Black family structure remains one of the most enduring legacies of systemic oppression. Today, the “wildfire” of gender disunity rages across social media, community structures, and domestic spaces. This conflict manifests as a zero-sum game of survival and status:

The Competition Trap,  instead of fighting external socioeconomic inequalities, Black men and women are often baited into competing against one another for cultural dominance, economic survival, and social validation.
The Weaponisation of Trauma, historical wounds, such as the deliberate economic castration of Black men under migrant labour systems and the hyper-exploitation of Black women, are used as ammunition in modern “gender wars” rather than as contexts for mutual healing.
The “Othering” Effect,  when communication breaks down, partners cease to be allies. They become caricatures: the “deadbeat” or the “hyper-independent cynic.” This blocks empathy and replaces love with hyper-vigilance.

The Deconstruction of Society
When gender disunity peaks, the foundational unit of civilisation,  the home,  the family collapses. The numbers tell a story of systemic fracture: high divorce rates, single-parent households carrying immense financial strain, and boys growing up without present male mentorship, which perpetuates the cycle of frustration and violence. The destruction of the family is not a private grievance; it is a community catastrophe that stalls collective economic and political liberation.

PART III — THE THEOLOGICAL CASE
Why Black Women and Men Must Unite
The assertion that “the future is human” rather than “women only” is not an attempt to minimise the unique, severe struggles of women. Rather, it is a recognition that leaving men and boys behind ultimately cripples the entire community. True restoration requires a collaborative theological framework, rooted in five core biblical principles.

1. The Divine Image Is Shared
God did not reflect His full character in one gender alone. Both genders are required to fully mirror the nature of the Creator on earth. Isolating or discarding one side distorts the image of God to the world.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
— Genesis 1:27

2. Isolation Is Not God’s Design
From the beginning, isolation was diagnosed as the primary flaw in an otherwise perfect creation. God’s solution to human loneliness was partnership, not segregation. A future that ignores the plight of boys and men directly violates this design.
“The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’”
— Genesis 2:18

The Hebrew word Ezer (helper) does not imply a subordinate assistant. It denotes a vital, life-saving partner, often used in Scripture to describe God’s deliverance.

3. Interdependence Is Mandatory
New Testament theology rejects individualistic isolation. In the economy of God, the success of the woman is inextricably tied to the health of the man, and vice versa.
“Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.”
— 1 Corinthians 11:11

4. The Body Suffers Together
Humanity operates as a single organism. When Black men and boys struggle with identity, trauma, or spiritual drift, the wound is carried by the women who anchor the community alone. Women cannot fully thrive if the other half of their human ecosystem is broken.
“The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ … If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:21, 26

5. Joint Heirs in Redemption
The kingdom of God features no gender-segregated tiers of inheritance. Men and women receive the exact same spiritual capital and grace. They are designed to walk as co-travellers on the path of faith and restoration.
“…as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life … There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Peter 3:7 / Galatians 3:28

Moving From “Wars” to Restoration.
To defeat the lingering blueprint of the Stellenbosch strategy, the community must pivot from a competitive mindset to a restorative one. Flourishing is never a zero-sum game. When Black women and men actively reject the bait of gender warfare, they intentionally rebuild the family structure that systemic oppression sought to destroy. The future becomes truly human when both walk side by side, healing together, serving as the ultimate resistance against division.
